March Flash Highlights: Massachusetts Continues To Grow, Retailers Increase Spend

Massachusetts continues to see fast growth

Massachusetts saw continued growth this month, with wholesale sales through LeafLink increasing by 121% year-over-year. Every state showed year-over-year sales growth this month, except for Arizona which declined 9.2% in February vs. January.

Retailers are spending more than 2021

LeafLink retailers spent 4.6% more in February 2022 vs. February 2021, with 43% of all buyers increasing their spend. While they spent more year-over-year, the average transaction volume per buyer decreased by 4% month-over-month.

Flower sales decrease

Flower retained its spot as the number one category by market share, but saw a 7.5% decrease in wholesale sales in February. Edibles & Ingestibles saw the most significant increase in market share this month at .34 percentage points, signaling that market share per category was relatively steady this month when compared to the previous.
