A NOTE ON OUR METHODOLOGY
We took both a qualitative and quantitative approach in order to find the best of the best when it comes to cannabis brands, retailers, and products. The combined approach ensures that the LeafLink community has a powerful voice in naming their favorites, while also rewarding those brands, retailers, and individual products that are topping the charts based on marketplace data.
Qualitative Categories
- LeafLink List’s Community Favorites for brands and retailers were derived through surveys sent out via email to LeafLink’s network of cannabis brands and retailers. Thank you to everyone who participated in the voting process!
- LeafLink Innovator categories were selected by an internal nomination and voting process.
Quantitative Categories
Each quantitative category winner was data-driven, sourced internally from LeafLink’s database of cannabis marketplace data to find top performing brands, retailers, and product categories! Data set includes sales from January 1 through September 30, 2023.
- The Top-Selling categories celebrate the most popular Brands and products from across the platform in 2023.
- Top-Purchasing categories celebrate the Retailers that purchased the most across the platform in 2023.
- The Fastest-Growing categories celebrate the Brands and Retailers that saw exceptional growth since the beginning of the year measured by average quarter-over-quarter growth.
FOR THE WINNERS
This year, LeafLink worked in collaboration with New York based artist, Cekis, to create a custom piece of artwork as a gift for winners. Numbered and signed, this artistic representation of the cannabis industry was created as a thank you to the customers who have shown incredible creativity in their work.
About the artist: Cekis is a NYC based graffiti artist born in Santiago Chile. He began painting and creating graffiti on the streets in the early 1990s gaining notoriety for his vibrant murals. Cekis is considered to be one of the pioneers of the South American graffiti movement.
As part of the emerging artistic renaissance that followed, graffiti became a way to form his own distinctly Chilean interpretation of the new influences he was experiencing. Painting in public spaces would continue to direct the trajectory of his career, and in 2004, he left for NYC. While in Brooklyn, his work began to take on a life of its own. Both his studio and larger-scale work often explore the tension between man-made and natural laws, shining a light on both his Latin American and graffiti roots while reflecting the interconnectedness of the human experience. Named by Complex Magazine in 2013 as one of the 50 most influential street artists of all time, he has exhibited in galleries worldwide, while staying true to his first love, public mural projects.
He has played a vital role in developing Chile’s street art scene, and his work continues to inspire young artists around the world.
