Towards the end of every year, we celebrate LeafLink Month – an opportunity for brands to showcase exclusive deals to purchasing managers. This year, we’re bringing it to you even earlier so you can increase your sales leading up to Green Wednesday.
LeafLink Month 2021
For those of you who haven’t heard, LeafLink Month is an opportunity for brands to get their products listed on the LeafLink Deals page and gain exposure through LeafLink’s marketing channels for free. It’s one of three LeafLink Deals periods, along with 3.20 and 7.10.
Retailers begin to stock up for Green Wednesday starting at the beginning of November, so we moved LeafLink Month up – now brands can drive increased sales and retailers get exclusive discounts as they stock up for what is shaping up to be the biggest cannabis sales day of the year.
What is Green Wednesday?
Green Wednesday is a holiday in the cannabis industry, taking place the day before Thanksgiving each year. According to data from both Akerna and Headset, Green Wednesday sales exceeded Black Friday sales for the first time in 2020 at an 80% increase in daily sales. As the data indicates, cannabis consumers preferred to shop the day before Thanksgiving in 2020, which led to lower Black Friday sales the day after the holiday. Black Friday sales still saw a 75% increase over average daily sales for the year, however.
Akerna also shared that, according to their data, Green Wednesday was the “single biggest sales day of 2020.” Considering cannabis has only become more popular according to consumer demand over the past year, we can safely assume that Green Wednesday 2021 is going to be a big deal once again.
